The family would like to announce the peaceful passing of Douglas James Russell on August 8, 2025. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Murielle in 2020. He leaves to mourn him his two sons, Merv Russell (Odyle) and Mark Russell, his three grandchildren, Meagan Laforrest (Robin), Alex Russell (Kate), and Kevin Russell (Amanda), as well as seven great-grandchildren: James, Lea, Scarlett, Elora, Ava, Callum, and Levi. Doug was very proud of his family and supported them unconditionally.
His dedication to his work of 40 years at the McIntyre mine set an example of hard work for all to follow. Douglas loved the outdoors, especially fishing and cutting wood. He left us with many great memories of family time at the cottage. Though he had a tough exterior, he softened as he got to know you. He is now reunited with his brothers Stan, Floyd, Art, and George.
A private mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 15, 2025, with burial to follow.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to LESSARD Funeral and Cremation Centre. Remembrance donations to the Seizure and Brain Injury Center would be greatly appreciated.
