It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Robert (Bob) Shaw, at the age of 83.
Bob’s story was one of love and devotion. He spent 63 years married to his childhood sweetheart and the love of his life, Myrna (née Wills). Together they built a life filled with love, laughter and faith, raising three children—Mark (Maureen), Lorraine (Hany), and Jennifer (Hugh)—and later welcoming five treasured grandchildren, Jessica (Dayle), Stephen (Julie), Jordan, Amanda, and Jack, and two great-grandchildren, Hailey and Parker. Bob’s family was his pride and joy and he delighted in spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bob lived his faith not only by attending church, but also in the everyday kindness he extended to others. Always a Good Samaritan, he quietly helped those in need, never asking for recognition, simply giving from the goodness of his heart. Bob will also be remembered for his sense of fun and his love of the horse races; he worked tirelessly on perfecting his formula to predict a winner.
Even as Myositis gradually limited his mobility, he met life’s challenges with grace and without complaint. His resilience, humour, and gentle spirit never wavered. Above all, Bob was a man of integrity, humility, and love. His presence brought warmth and comfort to everyone he met, and his legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched.
He leaves behind a family who adored him, his brother, Douglas, and sister, Lynne, friends who cherished him, and a faith community that will miss his steadfast spirit.

A funeral Mass will be held for Bob at Mary Mother of God Church, 2745 North Ridge Trail, Oakville, Ontario, on Saturday, October 25th, 2025 at 11:00 AM to be followed by a reception in the church hall.
