It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy Evelyn Stoiber (nee McCormick), who passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on November 23, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones at Thorncliffe Place.
Dorothy was a beloved mother to Randy Fouchard (Judy), Gerry Fouchard (Christine), Cindy Sullivan (Arnold), and Mark Stoiber (Marie-Eve). She cherished her grandchildren John, Scott, Shawn, Matthew (Shawna), Shane (deceased), Leah (Tyler), Crystal, April, Jasmine, and Adam, as well as her great-grandchildren Serena, Kolten, Jayce, Cole, Declan, Brianna, Robert, Dawn, and great-great-grandchildren Autumn, Alaina, and Atreus.
Dorothy was a proud Cochrane, Ontario native and the matriarch of her family. Her incredible strength and dedication to her family defined her life. She had a storied career, from running a concession booth at Robert Simpson Park in Arnprior to excelling as a Tupperware representative in the Ottawa area.
Dorothy had a passion for the arts and community. She acted in plays, sang with the Bells and Beaus choir, and organized bus trips and family-friendly entertainment. She was also an avid swimmer and talented ceramic artist, sharing her craft with others.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Tubman Funeral Home, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean, Ontario. Words of remembrance will be shared at 3:30 p.m.
Dorothy was the heart and soul of her family, and she will be dearly missed. Thank you for celebrating the life of this extraordinary woman with us.
