Geoffrey “Geoff” Swift

With sadness we announce the passing of Geoffrey Swift on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the Huntsville Hospital at the age of 84.

Geoff was born on Jan 23, 1942, in Rhodesia and grew up in Botswana. He went to work in South Africa, then travelled through Europe, working in England and Switzerland before travelling to Canada, where he met and married Geri in 1967. They moved North to Huntsville and bought and ran Mareda Cottages. Geoff worked for the Town of Huntsville until his retirement.

Geoff is survived by his wife Geri (nee Wilson); daughters Marj (Paul MacDonald), Liz (Wade Ewen), and Kara (Andy Craig); his siblings Rob (Morag), Marilyn (Ivor Williams) and Dawn (John Golding); and was the greatest Grandad to Iain, Giles, Lia, Burke, Victoria and Scarlett. He is predeceased by his parents George and Vera and his sisters Lynette and Heather.

Geoff enjoyed the outdoors including golfing, fishing, hunting, and spending time on his pontoon boat, the African Queen. He also spent time socializing with his friends at the Legion.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026, in the chapel of the Billingsley Funeral Home, 430 Ravenscliffe Road, Huntsville, Ontario, with visitation an hour prior.
