Hacker EdfordHACKER, Edford George   -  May 19, 1941 - December 31, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edford (Ed) Hacker at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on December 31, 2021.

Ed was the son of Earnest and Lena Hacker and was born in Westmoreland, Jamaica.

He was the beloved husband of Nellie Hacker (nee Lyn).

Proud father to Troy (Susan Sun) and Darren (Wendy Crawford).

Loving Grandpa to Darren Jr. and Kristen (The apples of his eyes).

Sadly missed by sister Maple Soares (the late Leslie), Ina (Polly) Somers (late Hugh), Margaret Gardener (Derick), Verna Hacker (Louis) Florine Hugh (Vincent), Ervin Hacker (Lesa Groskopf).

Fondly remembered by Irene Hacker (Sister-in-law) and many nieces and nephews.

Ed was predeceased by his brothers Robert, Cleve and Norman.

In 1967 Ed and his wife Nellie along with their toddler son Troy, migrated to Canada to start a new life. He was an Electrician and a Service Technician and a dedicated employee with the T. Eaton Company for over 26 years.

In later years he contracted for Whirlpool Canada until he retired.

Ed leaves behind many great friends and family who hold fond memories of fun times they have shared with him over the years. He was well loved and will be missed.

A Celebration of life will be held for Ed at a later date.

"It broke our hearts to lose you Ed, but you didn't go alone, for part of us went with you, the day God called you Home."

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Linda and all the staff from the Palliative Care Unit at PRHC.

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Peterborough Regional Health Centre.
