STEELE, Donald Raymond   - Passed away peacefully at home, in the arms of his beloved wife, on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at the age of 85 years.

Don was a longtime 1st Centenary Head Scout Leader.

During this time, he led his troop on many camping and overseas trips.

Through the experience of adventure, he mentored countless scouts and scout leaders.

Don shared his knowledge and passion for both serving the community as well as environmental stewardship. He was employed at the Canadian Tire head office in Toronto for over 30 years.

Don was a loyal and generous friend.

To be part of his circle meant experiencing his unconditional love, loyalty, his education in history and geography as well as his enthusiasm for the outdoors.

His legacy embraces four generations of family.

Don is survived by his wife of 61 years Sylvia (nee Thaurer). Dedicated father to Andrew Michael and Mark Raymond (Denise Indira). He was predeceased by his son, Carl John Stephen.

Loving grandfather to Melody, Lauren (Joshua), Jesse, Emily (Keegan), Adam (Darya), and Colin.

Great-grandfather to Nylah Grace, Elijah Mark, Kaleb Kalvin and Luke John.

Don is survived by his brother, Duff (Linda) and predeceased by parents, William John Leslie and Linda Grace (nee Brown).

Arrangements are entrusted with Kane-Jerrett Funeral Homes at 8088 Yonge St., Thornhill, and Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2022, and a Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022, at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Don Steele's name to the 9th Pickering Scouts Group.
