KLEIN, Christine - It is with great sadness that the family of Christine Klein announces her passing on September 29, 2022.
Born in Wattenscheid, the industrial heartland of Germany, on June 25, 1950, she immigrated to Canada with her parents in 1957.
Her career started at Eaton's as a sales clerk and continued at Zellers where she became a manager.
During her husband's teacher exchange to Perth, Australia, in 1985, she became interested in the travel business, and coming back to Toronto she worked at two travel agencies before starting out on her own.
As the travel industry started to decline, she became an examiner for the Canadian Passport Office in Scarborough.
In 1981, Christine met the love of her life, Christian, a teacher of physical and health education in Toronto, who has two sons from a previous marriage.
Left behind by Christine's sudden and unexpected passing due to cancer, are her husband, as well as her brother, Hans Talarowski (Patricia) and some nieces and nephews with their families.
Christine had a green thumb, apparently inherited from her mother, and loved to look after her garden.
Both she and her husband travelled twice around the world. Christine had great compassion for those in need, caring for some towards the end of their lives.
She will be dearly missed by her extended family and her large circle of friends.
If desired, donations can be made to a charity like "The Good Shepherd".
Family and friends will be received at McDougall & Brown Funeral Home, 2900 Kingston Road, Scarborough, on Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 11 a.m. until the time of Service in the Chapel at 12 p.m.
