KERSHAW, Janet Rose - July 31, 1935 - January 24, 2023
Passed away peacefully, while in the palliative care unit at St. Peter's Hospital, in Hamilton, ON.
Born in Danville, QC, Janet spent most of her childhood in North Toronto, then living and working in Toronto, until she retired.
She eventually settled into retirement in Port Hope., ON, where she pursued her love of art, specifically painting scenes of the natural beauty she found around her.
She was a member of several art groups in the community, showing her work at the Northumberland Arts Gallery.
When she wasn't painting, she indulged her beloved dog, Kohl. She was spirited, right until the end, described by the many caregivers who helped her in the last year of her life, as a "strong-willed, feisty woman."
She is loved and remembered by her children, Karen (Khalid) and Mike (Cynthia); grandchildren, Maryam, Leila, Kristopher (Aurora), Naomi and Taylor; and great-grandson, Sebastian. We love you, Nana.
A celebration of her life will be held in May 2023.
