Snowdon DeniseSNOWDON, Denise Marie  -

July 28, 1941 - March 8, 2023

Denise Marie Snowdon passed away peacefully, on March 8, 2023, due to complications from COVID-19.

Denise will be sadly missed by Denis, her loving husband of 53 years; and by her children and their spouses, Paul (Penny), Julie (Dan) and Andrea (Rob).

Denise was a loving grandmother who adored spoiling her grandkids with treats and wee prezzies.

Grandma Dee Dee will forever be missed by Amelia, Miles, Gabriel, Malaika, Xavier, Wallace and Audrey.

Denise also leaves behind her sister, Philomena; and brother, Martin (Elaine), both of whom reside in her native Scotland. Denise was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and attended Notre Dame Secondary School.

An excellent student, she attended Notre Dame teacher's college in Glasgow, and upon graduation immigrated to Toronto to begin her career with the Toronto Catholic District School Board. On a blind date, Denise met Denis, and shortly thereafter they married and began their life together in Oakville.

Children soon followed, and thereafter Denise dedicated her life to her family and creating a home full of love. As the children grew, Denise was able to give more of her time to volunteering and her hobbies.

She was a dedicated volunteer at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital for over 25 years, was a long-time member of the Hopedale ladies bowling league, and had served as a eucharistic minister and a member of the resurrection choir for many years at St. Dominic's in Oakville.

For those lucky to have known Denise, they will know how much she and Denis loved to cruise, how wonderful her cooking was and how welcoming her personality was.

She had the ability to make a connection with anyone, and with her warm smile, make every person feel special. She will be sorely missed.

A Funeral Mass for Denise will be held at St. Dominic Church, 2415 Rebecca St., Oakville, on March 14, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a reception in the church hall.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Charity of Your Choice in Denise's name is welcomed.
