Haig DonaldHAIG, Donald Keith  -

1927 - 2024

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Donald Haig on April 8, 2024, at Helen Henderson Care Centre in Amherstview, Ontario.

Reunited with his beloved wife of 72 years, Betty (2022).

Predeceased by brothers, Douglas (Eileen) and Jack.

He will be sadly missed by his "Bullett-in-laws", Russell (Pat), Charles (Erika) and Helen, as well as his many nieces, nephews and their families.

Born and raised in Montreal, Don began a long career at "The Northern" (Nortel) before transferring to Kingston in 1974.

After 37 years of service, a lengthy retirement was enjoyed with Betty, golfing, charity work and making deep and lasting memories with friends from Montreal, Kingston and Carnaby St. Don held a passion for his beloved Toronto Blue Jays, wearing his Jays cap after each win and proudly displaying his flag for the entire baseball season.

He was a generous, kind and caring man, a gentle giant who will be deeply missed by those fortunate to have known and loved him.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Chartwell Conservatory Pond – Retirement Residence as well as Helen Henderson Care Centre for their kindness and support.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in the Celebration Centre of the James Reid Funeral Home (1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston), followed by a family graveside ceremony.
