JOHNSTON, Thomas "Tom" E.  -  October 26, 1932 – November 10, 2018

Tom was a 'gentle man' in all aspects of his life.

He enjoyed gardening and walking his beloved 'fur baby' Dana.

Tom was an avid supporter of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra where he held subscriptions for both the classic and pop concerts.

He also attended multiple organ concerts at different venues throughout the city. Jazz was another listening favourite.

In his younger years Tom frequented all the nightly jazz clubs the city had to offer with the House of Hamburg and the Town Tavern being his favourites.

Season tickets to the Toronto Maple Leaf games were enjoyed over the years when the Leafs were a team to be 'reckoned with,' then off to Sutton Place to rehash the game as to who played well and who should be traded.

Car racing was another of Tom's favourites. In his younger days many weekends were spent at Watkins Glen.

There were also trips to Montreal for the grand prix and attendance at the Toronto grand prix. Since retiring in 1993, Tom and his wife Verna have spent their time cruising the world, from the North Pole to the South Pole and most places between.

Tom leaves this world loved by all that were involved in his life. He was respected and will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to spend time and to know him.

To quote Tom "It has been a great ride." To quote long term friends "Tom, Last Man Standing."

A celebration of Tom's life will take place in January.
