Douglas RonaldDOUGLAS, Ronald 'Ronnie' Clifford  -  (February 2, 1941 - January 3, 2019)  -  Peacefully, at Lakeside Long Term Care Centre.

Loving Husband of Lynda (Lees) Douglas.

Brother of Cameron Douglas (Sarah Kavanagh), sister in-law Diana Walker (Ed) and brother in-law David Lees (Leeann). Loyal friend Fred Daniels.

Ron was an avid skier, tennis player, squash player, and golfer. He enjoyed many happy leisurely years of cottage life in Midland, Georgian Bay and winters in Atlantis, Florida. A longtime member of Lambton Golf & Country Club, Ron earned the Willie Lamb Cup for his positive lifetime contributions to the club and the game of golf.

In 2006 Ron was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Ron faced the struggle of Alzheimer’s disease with admirable grace and an incontrovertible sense of humour. Ron will be forever in our hearts. And while his passing is a devastating loss to bear, our family finds comfort in the knowledge that his struggle is over. Ron was the kindest and gentlest of souls. He was always and will forever be recalled in the highest regard by all whose lives he touched. His was a life of grace, honour and humour. Ron did things right, with remarkable generosity.

The family would like to extend its greatest appreciations and thanks to Lakeside Long Term Care Centre, Toronto which provided Ron with a stable, dignified environment over the last years. The staff and personnel there have our deepest gratitude for their patience and efforts.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane subway, on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. A Service celebrating Ron’s life will be held at Islington United Church, 25 Burnhamthorpe Rd., on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 11 a.m.

If desired, remembrances may be made to Lakeside LTC or the Dorothy Ley Hospice.
