Appleton Douglas WalterAPPLETON, Douglas Walter  -  (September 15, 1943 - January 3, 2019)  -  Doug passed away peacefully at Trillium Mississauga Hospital on January 3rd.

He was predeceased by his parents, Doug Appleton and Ann Klotz. Doug is survived by his wife, Sharon, his children Charmaine (Marco) and Darrin, his grandchildren Madison and Matteo, his mother-in-law, Molly Acquafreddo, and his brother-in-law Mark (Linda) and Dennis Acquafreddo.

Doug was a wonderful man who loved to travel extensively and enjoyed watching a good baseball game or sharing a meal with friends. He was always available and happy to sit down to joke around and chat about current events. In Doug’s earlier days, he took joy in spending time with friends and family at his trailer and boating in the summer months. His love for travel took him all over the world, meeting new people and having all kinds of experiences. As a devoted father and grandfather with a great sense of humour, Doug shared many laughs with his beloved children and grandchildren and made special memories that will last them a lifetime.

Doug was a long-term employee of the Bank of Montreal and considered his colleagues some of his best friends. His career at the bank spanned 50 years and he worked in many areas from branch banking, to corporate credit and corporate audit.

Doug was an amazing, unforgettable, man and will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

For those who wish to say their goodbye’s to Doug, there will be a public viewing held on Wednesday, January 9th from 6 pm to 8 pm, at Turner & Porter - Neweduk - Erin Mills Chapel, 1981 Dundas St. West, Mississauga, ON. On Thursday, he will be laid to rest at a private family burial.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Doug’s memory be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
