Casknette JeanCASKNETTE, Jean Marie (nee CHISHOLM)   - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Marie Casknette (nee Chisholm) on Sunday, January 13, 2019, in Etobicoke, Ontario, at the age of 81.

Jean was born in Inverness Hospital, Cape Breton on October 15, 1937.

She was the daughter of the late Mary Ellen Chisholm of Craigmore, Cape Breton.

Jean moved to Toronto as a teenager where she met Philippe at Rotary Peace Park on Tenth Street and Lake Shore Drive.

She married Philippe on December 23, 1957 at St. Dominic's Church in Mississauga, Ontario. Jean worked at Ranco Controls in Etobicoke, she later worked for Ingersoll Rand in Mississauga where she retired in 2002.

In Jean's life, family always came first. When her children were young, she was very involved in their activities.

Jean also had a strong faith and actively supported a number of charities. Jean was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Philippe; children Shelley, Judy Laucys (Ron), Wayne (Julie), Ryan (Carol); 9 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by brother Angus William "Billy" (late Marie), sister of Andre of Windsor and Donnie (Rose) and Collie (late Sadie) of Craigmore. Special thanks to the caring staff at McCall Centre for Continual Care in Etobicoke.

As per Jean's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service has been held.

In memory of Jean, donations to the Lung Association or to your local Women's Shelter would be greatly appreciated by the family.
