MOOTOO, Ruth Josephine - Aged 90 passed away on March 27, 2019.
Ruth was born in British Guiana [Guyana] on March 24th 1929. She moved to Canada in 1961 and was followed by her siblings and mother soon after. The family made their home in Downsview where Ruth resided until she passed away.
Ruth worked as a clerk at a major hospital in Toronto and retired at the age of 65. During the years the family extended to 7 nephews, 3 nieces and many boisterous children - all who were near and dear to Ruth. She lit up whenever she saw them and loved to get a rise out of them with a stern command or a teasing joke.
Cherishing the love and attention of the younger generation that followed, Ruth dedicated her life to the well-being of family. She enjoyed bringing her whole family together at elaborate dinners and barbecues and always took time to show her love for her entire family.
Ruth is survived by her sisters Doris, Veronica, Florence, Kerene, and Roxanne and her brother, David.
Ruth will now join her beloved brother, Randolph, sisters Margaret and Eugenie, her mother and her father, in Heaven.
Visitation will be held at DeMarco Funeral Home, Toronto on Monday, April 1st, 2019 from 9:30am to 10:30am. The service will take place at St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Church, 2100 Jane St., Toronto on Monday, April 1st, 2019 at 11:00am.
