MEHMETI, Sophie  -  It is with sadness that our family announce the passing of Sophie Mehmeti, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, on November 16, 2019. Born in Greece on November 29, 1927, Sophie was the daughter of the late Bill Tetsis and Kostandina Lagos.

Beside her late parents she was predeceased by her late husband Osman Mehmeti who she carried with her in heart until the time of her passing.

Leaving with fond and precious memories are her children Arthur, Danny (Julie), Errol, grandchildren Laura and Samantha along with a circle of extended family and those who held the privilege of calling Sophie a friend.

Sophie will be forever held in the hearts of all those who knew her and how she could create a meal or dish from the heart by not using a recipe, using only heaping amounts of love and care.

Sophie’s family will be accepting visitors at Lynett Funeral Home (3299 Dundas Street West, Toronto) on Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 2 – 4 PM and 7 – 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church (1 Brookhaven Drive, Toronto) on Friday, November 22, 2019 at 10 AM, followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery, (1567 Royal York Road, Etobicoke) from where Sophie will find her early rest.

Those wishing to make memorial donations may donate to the St. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church Fund.
