MEDEIROS, Maria Evelina - Age 94, died peacefully in the early morning hours of Wednesday, November 20, 2019.
Evelina was born in 1925 in Ponta Delgada on the island of São Miguel, Açores, Portugal, to José de Medeiros and Teresa Moniz.
She was the eldest of 5 children: Margarida (predeceased), Natalia (predeceased), Almorinda, and José (predeceased).
She moved to Canada in 1971 to start a new chapter of her life and quickly found dear friends and employment in her new home.
Evelina had a good sense of humour and a sharp wit. She was very independent and took pride in her self-sufficiency.
She will be fondly remembered by all her extended family especially her nieces and nephews—in Canada: Esperança and Natalia; in Açores: Goretti, Teresa, Filomena and Alvaro; in Brasil: Diniz and Sergio; and in the United States: José Helena and Patricia. We will all miss her fiery and funny personality.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 25th, 9:30 am, at St Agnes Catholic Church, 15 Grace Street at Dundas Street, Toronto.
