PEREIRA, Philomena Louisa - It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother/Grandmother, Philomena Louisa Pereira on Sunday, April 19, 2020.
Pre-deceased by her husband Patrick Bonifacio Pereira, parents Rosemary and Francis Xavier Vaz, baby sister Angeline and brother-in-law Ignatius Pereira.
Philomena – meaning ‘friend of strength’. She was blessed with the extraordinary beauty of a simple heart, and a special knack for making friends and showing her care in every way. During her journey with Alzheimers over the last few years, she did not allow it to dampen her jovial spirit and her zest for life.
She will be dearly missed by her children: Rhonda Godin (Robin), Ryan Pereira (Judaline), Ramona Pereira, Rachel Fernandes (Hilary).
Siblings: Raphael Vaz, Angeline Vaz, Stella Vaz. Brother-in-law: Clyde Vaz. Sisters-in-law: Maroussa Vaz and Bernadette Pereira.
Grandchildren: Brianna, Alexis, Adrian, Tristan, Renée, Aaron and Natalia.
Philomena will also be fondly remembered by her extended family and numerous friends with whom she shared a close and caring relationship.
Our sincere thanks to the management and staff at Markhaven for the diligent care and support given to Mum over the past few years. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made in Philomena’s name to the Markhaven Foundation which is linked below.
Due to the Pandemic, there will be a private service and burial on April 25, 2020 for immediate family only.
