Blizzard ClaireBLIZZARD, Claire Clothilde Elodia Jones - Passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020.

Claire married Lennox Alfred Blizzard in 1957.

She was the eldest girl of 9 children

The mother of Louis Andre, Leanne Maria and Ian Alfred,

The Grandmother of Nathaniel, Demarisse, Jade, Aaron, Celine, Carmen and Vaughn

Mother in law to Steven, Julie and Genesis.

Aunty to over 24 Nieces and Nefews including the 2nd generation

She was a proud Registered Nurse and Midwife.

The last few days, the phone hasn’t stopped. That’s because it’s always been hard to say goodbye to Claire. Anyone who spent nights dancing at the Trinidad & Tobago Association will remember how Claire started leaving at ten-thirty, but didn’t reach the door till eleven-fifteen. Along the way she’d stop to dance, visit with friends and enjoy the music a little longer. Shyness was not a problem.

If you happened to be holding a newborn, she’d cross her arms, tap her foot and say “You’ve been holding that baby a long time.” Beyond all things, she loves family and friends, and once you got big enough to talk, you were big enough for “Come to the phone and talk to aunty, or uncle - or someone who just dialed the wrong number.” Who now knows she’s a registered nurse and the names of her grandchildren.

The ladies at the salon called her Mummy. The babies in the mall smiled as if to say “Don’t I know you?” At this very moment she’s dancing with old friends and family, and true to form, she’s too busy saying hello to say goodbye.
