GREAVES, Patrick Cochrane Wood  - (April 17, 1926 - July 7, 202) -

Patrick Greaves passed peacefully at home July 7, 2020, surrounded by loving family after months of bone marrow failure in his 95th year.

He is survived by his brother Kevin; his five children, Frank, Judy, Gerald, Linda and Laura; and nephew Charles.

Grandchildren: Parris, Tessa and Brianna; Dennis and Michael; Jessica and Joel; Bradley and Jeffrey. Great grandchildren Sterling; James, Mary and Rose; Aleta and Sandro; Alexandra, Dominic and Anthony; Chloe and Oliver.

Patrick was born and grew up in St. Phillip, Barbados, trained in Medicine in London, England and Toronto before settling in Newmarket in 1955, practicing general medicine then anaesthesia full time after fellowship training in Toronto, until 1990. His deep commitment to his life’s work in medicine was apparent to those who knew him.

He was a devoted husband to Audrey (d.2010), and committed father to 5 active and energetic children. He enjoyed cottage life in Haliburton for over 60 years and was an enthusiastic gardener, naturalist and reader, especially of British and Barbadian history. He spent many hours playing backgammon with friends and family.

No ceremony planned at this time because of the Covid restrictions. A celebration of his life will be announced later. Arrangemnets with Roadhouse and Rose funeral home.
