Zuniga LauroZUNIGA, Lauro Gonzalo - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lauro on Sunday, July 5, 2020, at the age of 82 years.

Born December 22nd 1937 in Zaruma, Ecuador, to Alberto Zuniga and Digna Castillo.

Lauro came to Canada in the late 60s to find a better life and work hard for himself and his family.

Lauro will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 30 years, Patricia Ati and his children David Zuniga-Ati, Daniel Zuniga-Ati, Lauro Zuniga M, Tony Zuniga M and Angel Zuniga S.

Lauro will also be fondly remembered by his five grandchildren, Dexter, Andrew, Jessie, Brandon, and Jonathan.

He will be missed by his siblings Bolivia Zuniga de Alban, Zoila Zuniga de Aldaz, Rosa Zuniga Naranjo, Vicente Zuniga Castillo, Lola Zuniga de Fuentes, Patricia Zuniga de Sanchez, Eskarley Zuniga Montero, Esther Zuniga Montero, Maricela Zuniga Montero, Manuel Zuniga Montero and Mercedes Zuniga Montero.

He was predeceased by his siblings Victor Zuniga Castillo, Jorge Zuniga Castillo, Bolivar Zuniga Castillo

His life was characterized by being a hardworking and honest man. Always helping his family and everyone else in need. His faith strengthened him in his final years to be the husband and father we will always remember with great affection.

Unfortunately, he struggled with Alzheimer's disease over the last 10 years, when for his safety and well being he was admitted to Villages of Sandalwood Park, Long Term Care Facility where his wife, children and closest siblings had the opportunity to watch over him daily. He always showed peace and serenity to accept his disease until his last breath.

For which we are always grateful to God and the medical staff of Villages of Sandalwood Park.

In light of the recent COVID-19 attendance and social distancing regulations, this service will be private and by invitation only.
