Faragalli RosinaFARAGALLI, Mariarosa 'Rosina' (née Cifoni)(December 28, 1921 — August 7, 2020) - An extraordinary life has come to a close.

Mariarosa (Rosina) Faragalli passed away on August 7, 2020 of natural causes at age 98, in the loving company of her granddaughter.

Beloved wife of 51 years to Giorgio, her late husband. Rosina’s passing leaves an immense void in the lives of her entire family, especially her cherished son Leonardo and his wife Luisa, adored granddaughter Camilla, beloved sister Clorinda and brother Dario, and their families. The eldest of nine children, Rosina treasured the memory of her deceased siblings, Aldo, Margherita, Maria, Filomena, Sabatino, and Gloria.

A singular, exceptional woman, she will be remembered for her generosity, patience, humour, and vitality, her deep religious devotion, her animated storytelling, her exquisite sewing and needlework, her bountiful garden, and her infinite love for her family and friends.

Before settling in Toronto, Canada in 1957 with her husband, Rosina called several places home, including her birthplace in West Virginia, her family’s ancestral home in Nepezzano (Abruzzo) Italy, and Caracas, Venezuela, where she and Giorgio lived as newlyweds.

Despite limited formal education, she spoke three languages and remained curious about the world and its events right to the end.

Rosina’s tight-knit community of neighbours, in particular her dear friend Barbara Andrews, played an important and supportive role in her life, allowing Rosina to remain in her cherished home of 53 years until just days before her passing.

Arrangements with Newediuk funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Andrews Church, 2547 Kipling Avenue on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Woodbridge.
