Visser DirkVISSER, Dirk - Very early on the morning of October 6, 2020, passed away from natural decline due to age at the Brampton Civic Hospital.

Dirk Visser, who was married to Hiltje Visser (1925-2019) in 1948, and was father to Alida Visser (1953-2018) and to son Bernard Visser.

Dirk was a professionally trained musician and the first of the family to immigrate to Canada from Holland after WWII, by joining the Royal Canadian Black Watch as a French horn player.

After 12 years of service, during which he brought our family (my mother, sister, and I) over to Canada to become citizens too, he entered civilian life working in financial computing for Canadair Ltd. (now Bombardier Aerospace).

A loving husband and father, an earnest provider, a student of cosmology, an independent minded gentleman, he did so much for us all, always planning for the future, and doing his best to support us. Dad and Mom were blessed to enjoy many years of retirement together.

My father is survived by myself (Bernard), and my brother-in-law Bill Wells. He was 95.

In light of the recent COVID-19 social distancing regulations, the visitation and service will be a private and by invitation only. Those who will be attending visitation must note that wearing a mask is mandatory in our building.
We are sorry for the inconvenience but ask that you keep Dirk and his family in your prayers.
