Rose GeorgeROSE, George Francis - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Francis Rose on Thursday October 8th, 2020, in his 91st year.

George will be greatly missed by his loving wife Venice, children Tracey (Giancarlo Predeceased), Greg (Rhonda), Amanda (Steven), and Dale, his Grandchildren, Danya, Jonathan (Sam), Darby, Grace, Marley, Brandon, Katherine & John, and sister-in-law Margaret who lives in Lyme Regis, England.

Predeceased by his brothers John and Roy, sons David & Joey and son-in-law Giancarlo.

Born in England in 1929, George emigrated to Canada in 1952 after serving his country overseas as a member of the Royal Engineers. George lived a colourful life, working various jobs across Canada. Some most memorable being his leadership at a Western Canadian jail bush, and his 30 years at Nortel in Brampton with the Facilities Engineering Department.

Through his retirement, George worked with the Commissionaires at Pearson Airport, and enjoyed his time bartending at his favourite local pub in Brampton and time spent at his much loved trailer on Georgian Bay where he enjoyed the company of many friends and family.

George loved to share old stories, sing songs, play trivia, tell jokes, and recite poetry... always a character and such great fun! He was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 604 as well as a lifetime member of the Masons and the Scottish Rose Croix Rite.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of George made to Sunnybrook Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Forever in our hearts.

Arrangements (WITH RESTRICTIONS) are entrusted with Scott Funeral Home “Brampton” Chapel, (289 Main Street North). Visitation on Tuesday October 13th from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel of Scott Funeral Home commencing at 1:00pm. Interment in Assumption Cemetery to follow.

In light of the current global pandemic with the present restrictions placed on group gatherings by the government, attendance at the funeral home has been restricted to 30% capacity. In consideration of the present restrictions we encourage guests to be mindful of the time spent in the funeral home so that all guests may have an opportunity to support the family.

For the health and well-being of everyone, we respectfully request that attendees at the funeral home comply with current Brampton by-laws by observing social and physical distancing and wearing masks.

For the convenience of those unable to attend the funeral home, the Funeral Service for George will be live streamed. The live stream will commence at 12:55 pm on Tuesday October 13th.
