Botelho TonyBOTELHO, Antonio 'Tony' Eduardo - (April 9th, 1950 - October 11, 2020)

On October 11th, 2020, in his 70th year, Tony passed away peacefully at Brampton Civic hospital with his wife Virginia at his side, after a short battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Virginia. Father of four; Daniel, Alex, Christine and Matthew.

Grandfather of four; Elliott, William, Aislynn and Travis. Father in-law to Paula Lima Botelho (Dan), Joy Atkinson Botelho (Alex),Aaron Kok (Christine) and future Stephanie Rafanan (Matthew).

Oldest brother to Humberto, Nathalie, Joe, Mary Lou, Belle and Sara.Brother in-law to Gloria (Humberto), Margarida (Joe), John (Mary-Lou), Laurence (Sara). Joe Moreira, John and Maria Clotilde Moreira, Arthur and Clara Moreira, Albert and Susanne Moreira, and Maria de Fatima and Tino Pintos of Ottawa.

Tony was predeceased by his father Antonio Luiz Botelho (2017) of Sao Miguel, Portugal and his mother Belmira (Raulino) Botelho (2011) of Sao Miguel, Portugal.

Tony was born April 9, 1950 in Fenais da Luz, Sao Miguel, Portugal. Immigrated to Canada in 1967 with his family. Tony met the love of his life Virginia in 1970 and married her October 14th, 1972. Always a family man, he started his family in 1973 and the fun started there.

Tony enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing with his daughter, Christine. Tony worked at IKO Industries for almost 38 years where he made many great friends. After retirement in 2015, he enjoyed spending his time with his grandchildren building memories to last a lifetime.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions visitations at the Ward funeral Home will be limited to 15-minute appointments arranged through the Ward Funeral Home, from 5:00 to 9:00pm on Thursday, Oct 15th. Please register on the funeral home's website.

A Service will be held at St Anne’s Church, 115 Vodden St E, Brampton on Friday Oct 16th at 11:00 am. Please RSVP for that as well. The interment will take place in private for immediate family only.

We do apologize for the restricted access to family and friends who want to celebrate Tony’s life. Live streaming will be available for the service and interment.

The family extends a heartfelt thanks to Dr. McAlister and staff of the Brampton Civic Hospital for the care they provided Tony during his stay. A special thank you to Rev Andrew Lewis who came to give Tony his Last Rites prior to his passing.
