Hurley KathleenHURLEY, Kathleen Ann (Gibbons) - Aged 85 years, of Richmond Hill, ON; formerly of Redlands, NL. We are incredibly saddened to announce the passing of Kathleen, a loving wife, mother to many nieces and nephews, sister, aunt, great-aunt and friend.

She passed away peacefully at The Palliative Care Unit of Mackenzie Health, Richmond Hill, ON, on October 10, 2020.

The youngest and last of her family, Kathleen is predeceased by her husband, Ronald; parents, Michael and Elizabeth; sisters, Johanna, Winnie, Minnie, Alice, brother Joey and her infant child.

A woman of exceptional kindness and charity to all who ever knew her, there are many who can fondly recall her hospitality and willingness to help whenever called upon. It is said that God loves a cheerful giver; for that, Kathleen must certainly be among those most favoured.

We loved her and we honour her.

She leaves to mourn: Her devoted caregiver and friend, Ryan Day, who was by her side during her last moments, Bernadette Needham, Lucy May Hurley, Elizabeth Crocker and Marion Baker, who were exceptionally loved and cherished by Kathleen. Her precious cat, Midnight. Her extended family in Newfoundland and Ontario, as well as a large circle of friends.

She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at a later date.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the following, who provided for Kathleen in her most needed time: The Staff of The Palliative Care Unit of Mackenzie Health, Richmond Hill, ON, The Staff of Community & Home Assistance to Seniors (CHATS). Your dedication, kindness and sincere faithfulness to Kathleen will never be forgotten.

Memorials may be made in her honour to the charity of your choice.

Kathleen was a poet; a storyteller; a woman of creativity, kindness and immense recollection. She loved and cared for all creatures, great and small. May we be forever mindful and grateful that she touched our lives.

She will never be forgotten, for her memory is a blessing.
