Phillips IvanPHILLIPS, Ivan - 61 years, beloved husband of Gina Phillips passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his bedside, and via video, on November 23, 2020 after a long struggle with cancer.

Ivan was a resident of Markham since 2011 and loved music, playing the piano, and composing and singing on his guitar.

He had a degree in Accounting and worked for many years in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia at Whinney Murray and Al-Suwaiket Group.

In 1995 he immigrated to Canada and worked for Bell Canada, now known as CGI.

He is survived by his mother Annie Phillips (late father Tony Phillips), siblings Allwyn/Clara, Joey/Noella, Nisha/Rock D’Souza, and Gavin/Christabelle, nieces Rhea, Nicole, Kristen, Natalie, Naomi, and nephew Caleb.

The family would like to thank Dr. Phillip McCarthy and staff, as well as Dr. Cyrus Irani at Roswell Park Hospital, Buffalo, New York, USA. Dr. Franke and staff at Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto, Ontario, the ICU team at Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, Ontario, and the staff at Markham-Stouffville Hospital. Special thanks to Carol Spicer for her unwavering support during the most difficult times of Ivan’s treatment.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, a donation for Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma research made to the Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto, Canada.

Due to the Corona Virus restrictions attendance at the Wake and Funeral is very limited and by invitation only. The funeral is on Tuesday December 1st, 2020 at St Patrick’s Church, Markham at 11:30am EST.
