Falkenberg ChristaFALKENBERG, Christa "Mutz"   -  1929, Celle, Germany - 2021 Toronto, Canada

It is with deepest sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Christa Falkenberg on February 9, 2021, at her home of 63 years, surrounded by loved ones.

We have lost the centre of our family. Classy, vivacious, caring and always elegant are the best words to describe her.

In death she is reunited with the very much missed Hans Falkenberg, her husband of 63 years (2013).

Adored mother of Sonja (Peter and children Clint and Victoria; Samantha and Dov; Ben and Rebecca and families); son Mark (Stacy and grandchildren Raelle, Colton and Reese).

Predeceased by her beloved son Peter (1984). In Germany, beloved sister-in-law to Dieter and Hilde Falkenberg and their children Heike and York; late brother Achim and family (Siegrid, Christian and Suzanne); in the US, her nephew Hans Falkenberg (Jackie and children Hilary, Heather and Ian and families).

They broke the mold after Christa was born. Mom was a power house and unique in so many ways.

As a professional interpreter with the British embassy, Christa immigrated to Canada in 1952 at the tender age of 22. That same year she met and married Hans and together they worked very hard, against great odds, to build a successful life for their family.

In 1957, they bought their first house in Willowdale; which remains the family home and solid base to this day and exemplifies their rock-steady temperaments. Christa gave up her career to be the best mother ever to her three children.

Mom's was a life well lived. Top three things in her life were family, love of knowledge and the huge desire to share.

Christa personified the rarest and best of human qualities. The world has lost a particularly wonderful person. A memorial will be held when she is laid to rest at the cottage between her son and husband in the fall. Great appreciation goes to Christa's 3 Angels: Penny, Liezel and Marygrace. No one could have been better cared for with such love and compassion. In lieu of flowers, Christa would appreciate an In Honour donation to the Sick Kids Hospital online at http://my.sickkidsdonations.com/ChristaFalkenberg

She left us quietly, Her thoughts unknown,
But left us a memory We are super proud to own;
So we hope she is at peace,
In a garden of rest; For when on this earth,
She was the absolute best.

Mutz will be in our hearts forever.
