Van Schalkwyk PaulVAN SCHALKWYK, Paul Peter - (August 18, 1970February 15, 2021)

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Paul Peter Van Schalkwyk announces his sudden passing on Sunday, February 14th, 2021.

Beloved father of Sean Van Schalkwyk and son of the late Gae Van Schalkwyk (nee Evans) and Peter Van Schalkwyk,

Paul was born in Johannesberg, South Africa on August 18th, 1970. Paul served in the South African Armed Forces from 1988-1990. He made Canada his home in 1990.

In addition to his son Sean and father Peter, Paul is survived by sister Lara Van Schalkwyk, brother Dirk Van Schalkwyk, sister Juli Van Zyl, brother David Van Schalkwyk and sister Jane Gardner. Paul is also survived by his Aunt Bronwyn Evans Smyth, nieces and nephews; Anna, Damien, Max, Helen, Eve, Ellie and Jasmine. Lovingly remembered by his former spouses; Siobhan Gibson (mother of Sean) and Jennifer Doucette.

Paul will be dearly missed by his family and friends in South Africa, Taiwan, New Zealand and Canada.

Cremation will take place and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted with Trull funeral home.

Deeply, I know this, that love triumphs over death. My father continues to be loved and therefore he remains by my side. ✝️ 💓
