Murphy PaulMURPHY, Paul Harold - Passed away peacefully on March 9, 2021 at K1 West Veteran’s Wing of Sunnybrook Health Sciences, Toronto, Ontario.

Paul was born in Toronto to Dr. Harold and Cecilia Murphy.

Married to his beloved wife, Angela for 71 years.

Father to his children Patrick (Brenda), Peter (Deborah) and his daughter, Carol (Brian Skinner); his six grandchildren, Jamie (Kristina), Ryan (Marisa), Paul (Jessica), Kristen (Ryan), Brian (Chris) and Morgan (Sanam) and eight great grandchildren Peyton, Lochlan, Allison, Madison, Jack, Preston, Mikaela and Paige.

Paul was predeceased by his older brother, Lieutenant Morgan Murphy who died in World War II serving his country and by his younger brother Harold J. Murphy.

After completing high school and before attending university, Paul enlisted in 1943 in the Canadian Navy serving on a Frigate and Corvette in the North Atlantic. He returned from the war where he began a career of 43 years as a Senior Executive with Canada Building Materials Company.

In 2018, Paul moved to Sunnybrook Veteran’s Centre where he received excellent care from so many dedicated and caring professionals including Nora, Linda, Jennifer, Emma, Dr. Chu, Christine and spiritual support from Father Jim.

Paul made many good friends during the time spent at Sunnybrook. The Murphy family appreciates the outstanding care received at Sunnybrook Veterans Centre.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Veteran’s Centre, attention: Veteran’s Comfort Fund of the Sunnybrook Foundation at P.O. Box 1277 Station K, Toronto, Ontario M4P 9Z9.

A private family mass in celebration of Paul’s life will be held on March 30, 2021 at Blessed Sacrament Church.
