Casola LeonardaCASOLA, Leonarda (nee Forte) - (1940 - 2021) - It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Leonarda Casola (nee Forte), on Friday, May 14th, 2021.

She is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Antonino.

Loving mother of Charles (Vilma) and John, grandmother to Michael, Danielle and Matthew.

Leonarda is predeceased by her parents Giovanni Battista and Nicolina and her in-laws, Calogero and Caterina.

She will be remembered and dearly missed by her entire family, Saveria (predeceased) and (Antonino predeceased); Giuseppe (predeceased) and (Giovanna); Angelica (Sr. Caritas predeceased); Emanuele (Rosina); Stefano (Giovanna); Anthony (Maria); Giuseppina (Antonino); Francesco (Gesua-predeceased); Giuseppe (Angela); Domenica (Giacomo); John (Maria) ; and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends she held dearly in her heart.

Leonarda was born in Cattolica Eraclea, Sicily, on May 6th, 1940. She was raised with strong religious beliefs and stood by her convictions throughout her life. She immigrated to Canada at the age of 17 to marry Antonino and start a family.

She worked diligently at many jobs until she achieved her childhood dream of teaching. She happily worked as an Italian Heritage instructor for TCDSB, until she retired in 2001.

Leonarda lead a full and happy life volunteering her time to various activities including Coro San Marco, St. Jane Frances Church choir and lector, Cattolica Eraclea Social Club, distributing the Eucharist to seniors at the Hawthorne Place Care Centre, and teaching First Holy Communion catechism to the parish children. Although her faith was the largest part of her life, she also enjoyed travelling to various places with her loving husband, but she especially enjoyed spending time and making new friends at her summer home at Sherkston Shores.

Arrangements entrusted with DELMORO FUNERAL HOME. Due to Covid19 restrictions, the visitation is by invitation only.

A private celebration of her life will be held at St. Jane Frances Church on Wednesday, May 26th. Family and friends are welcome to view her funeral mass live-streamed on YouTube by St. Jane Frances Church. A private entombment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in Leonarda’s memory to ShareLife.
