Rankin YvonneRANKIN, Yvonne Evelyn - It is with great sadness that the family of Yvonne Evelyn Rankin announces her passing on May 23rd, 2021 at Humber River Hospital in North York, Ontario at the age of 89.

Married to her childhood sweetheart, she was the loving wife of the late Rob Rankin (1999).

She is survived by her children Steve Rankin (Karen), Paula White (Mike Smith), and Carl White (Tammy), grandchildren Cassandra Smith (David Mann), Megan Smith (David Dyer), and Caitlin White, and great grandchild Liam Dyer.

Yvonne was born on July 24th, 1931. Growing up in Toronto, she spent her days swimming at Sunnyside pool. As an adult, she worked as a legal secretary on Weston Road until she retired.

During her retirement, she enjoyed spending summers up North in McKellar, Ontario and winters in Homestead, Florida before eventually settling in Newmarket, Ontario.

She will be fondly remembered by her family and friends as a world traveller, avid bridge player, and great baker of lemon meringue pie. She was a member of the Newmarket Seniors’ Meeting Place and loved her many Tweety birds over the years.

Arrangements entrusted with Thompson funeral home, Aurora. A Celebration of Life for immediate family will be held in July 2021.

For those who wish, donations to the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

It’s never goodbye, only bye for now.
