WILLIAMS, Betty Lillian - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Betty Lillian Williams on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 after an illness in the last four years of her life.
Betty was born in 1930 in New Toronto.
Betty enjoyed modelling in her younger years which led her to the title of Miss Mimico, and shortly thereafter she segued into the Miss Canada pageant as 3rd runner up in 1948.
Betty’s passion was raising four children and volunteer work at Mississauga Hospital and St. Hillary’s church.
Betty enjoyed travel, playing bridge, mahjong and Big Band music, Florida and Southern Spain were her favorite places to visit.
Betty was predeceased by her husband Glenn.
She is survived by her children Brad (Kim), Bruce (Michele), Karen (Alain), Sue (Steve), her loving companion Hugh MacFarlane, grandchildren Jacob, Tyler, Michael, Matthew, and her great grandchildren Kyro, Zoraya, Selina and Paige.
We wish to thank the staff of the Village of Erin Meadows, Dr. P. Fenty and hospice, Ian Anderson House for the wonderful care and compassion provided during mom’s final days.
Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Ian Anderson House would be greatly appreciated.
