Black LydiaBLACK, Lydia Katherine  - January 22, 1925 - September 19, 2021

Lydia passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Health Centre, Toronto after a brief illness.

She'll be forever missed for her gregarious personality, her energy, her storytelling, her beautiful quilts and her love.

She leaves behind daughters Karen, Jean-Anne (George) and Nancy; niece Traci; grandchildren Jesse (Tova), Val (Vlad), Caitlin (Rob), Spiro (May), Aidan (Ryan), Merry and Bethany; fourteen great-grandchildren; her sister Edith and a huge extended family.

Predeceased by her father S. Nelson James (1963), her mother Ruth H. Wright (1991), her husband John H. Black (2015) and her son- in-law John R. Allen (2020).

The oldest daughter in a family of ten who grew up in Fesserton, Ontario, she was also predeceased by eight siblings: Roy, Lawrence, Ruth, Doris, Eddie, Billie, Jeanie and Donna.

Memorial at Runnymede United Church, 432 Runnymede Rd., Toronto, Friday, September 24th, 1 p.m.
