CAMERON, Jean L. (nee GORMLEY) - Passed away on September 21, 2021 at her retirement home in Toronto at the age of 91 with family at her side; she will be deeply missed.
A proud Maritimer, born in Annapolis Royal to Harry Gormley and Lillian (Harris), Jean later moved to Halifax to attend and graduate at Dalhousie University in teaching.
After moving to Montreal to continue her teaching career, she met and married James Lorne Cameron.
Two devoted children, Lorne E. of California and Mary (Michael Dunham) of London, England, soon followed.
The family moved to Toronto in the early 60s where Jean resumed her teaching career while tirelessly raising her family.
Blessed with a wonderful sense of humour, Jean adored her cats and enjoyed her Muskoka cottage, skiing, dancing, Christmas Eve, baking and weekly bridge with friends, while always leaving time for volunteer work at the Aphasia Institute.
Jean was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, James Lorne, and her sister Mildred (Smith) of Peterborough.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your own choice would be welcomed.
