Vandette RaymondVANDETTE, Raymond Francis   -  February 23, 1936 – October 2, 2021

"Empty space is good design."

Raymond Francis Vandette, a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away at home, at the age of 85, following a battle with leukemia, on Saturday, October 2, 2021.

He is predeceased by his parents Margaret and Isadore Vandette, sisters Irene, Ruth and Mabel and brother Gary Boucher.

Raymond is the caring and loving father to Kelly, Vanessa and Justin and proud grandfather to Skylar, Connor, Quincey, Paige and Shelby.

Also, he is survived by his brother Jim Boucher of Kapuskasing. He was born in Matheson, raised in Hearst and moved to the City of Toronto in 1944.

He was a proud student at Our Lady of Lourdes and Buchanan Business College while competing in junior hockey.

On September 11, 1970, he married his loving girlfriend Jean, where the two remained happily married for over 51 years. Raymond was widely known for his love for animals and as an advocate for their well-being.

He was proud to have been a longtime real estate speculator and was passionate about interior design where he was the recipient of three awards.

Throughout his adult life he always preached about "empty space is good design." He also imported distinct design furniture while enjoying his many hobbies including his love for cars.

The Vandette family would like to extend their sincere appreciation and gratitude for the outstanding care received from Dr. Arenson, Nurse Hillary Surma and the palliative care team.

We also thank the many family friends who visited him regularly.

Donations in his memory can be made to the Toronto Humane Society. A private interment will be held.
