Battistuzzi RosaBATTISTUZZI, Rosa - The Lord called Rosa Battistuzzi home on November 14, 2021, just hours shy of her 91st birthday.

She will rest in peace with her beloved husband, Giuseppe.

Cherished mother to Maurice (Pamela) and Paul (Cheryl), and proud, loving Nonna to Alexa.

Dear sister to Vincenzo (d. 2019), Luigi, Augusta (Antonio), Giovanni (Nadia), Maria (Mario) and Nerina (Agostino), and many nieces and nephews residing in Italy.

Loved sister-in-law to Palmira and John, and nephews and nieces in the greater Detroit, Michigan area.

After a period of residence and work in Switzerland as a young woman, Rosa returned to Italy where she met Giuseppe. They married in Italy in 1958. Drawing on the strength and resilience developed during the trying times of the Depression and Second World War and with the help of family and close friends, they moved to Canada and began their new life in Toronto. They proudly became Canadian citizens.

Rosa was a person of uncommon gentleness, kindness, and compassion. She always had a warm smile and greeting for friends, care and concern for those in times of trouble, and unparalleled love for her family near and far. Fewer things in life brought her more joy than her granddaughter, who will forever carry with her the deep love she felt from Nonna. Rosa enjoyed wonderful friendships and neighbours in North York having lived in the community for over 50 years.

Though recent months brought Rosa health challenges and circumstances that were increasingly difficult to endure, her spirit and resolve were unwavering. Remarkably, her determination, warm demeanour and smile never left her.

She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched. Mama sara sempre bella.

Arrangements with Delmoro funeral home.

In kind remembrance, donations in memory of Rosa may be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Jean Augustine Centre For Young Women's Empowerment
