Powell EmilyPOWELL, Emily Mary Marjorie   -   June 21, 1922 - January 8, 2022

Emily Mary Marjorie Powell (nee Krolman) passed away peacefully in her 100th year of natural causes at home with dignity and comfort, surrounded by love with her daughter at her side.

She will be deeply missed by her four children: M. Douglas in Calgary; Gordon (Joanne) in Toronto; Susan (Jamie) in Hillsburgh; and Liane (Adrian) in Atlanta; her grandchildren: Emily, Nicholas, Alison (Mike), and Emma; and great-grandson Marshall; and extended family; nephew Arthur Krolman (Janet) in Calgary and Megan and Robyn Zimmerman in Calgary.

Marjorie was an absolute original. She was an elegant, classy, feisty, practical woman, and truly an indomitable spirit.

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she attended the University of Manitoba in the 1940s in Home Economics.

Marjorie's keen eye and appreciation for style and quality, together with an acute business sense and financial acumen, exemplified her dedication to excellence in everything she did throughout her entire full life.

In her early years, Marjorie worked for the Manitoba Wheat Board and was the head buyer of crystal across the world for one of the largest department stores in Winnipeg.

In 1945, Marjorie married the love of her life and travel partner, W. Douglas, whom she met in Loni Beach, Gimili, Manitoba. Her husband's 40-year career with Air Canada took them around the world where together they raised their family in Surrey, England, Dallas, Texas, Montreal, Quebec and Windsor, Ontario before finally settling in later years in Clarkson, Ontario.

Family was an important part of Marjorie's life, a value she instilled in all of her children.

Nearly a quarter of a century since he passed, Marjorie now joins him for their next adventure.

Following Marjorie's wishes, there will be no service or memorial, a cremation has taken place.

If desired, remembrances to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
