ZAFER, Miyeko (Micki) - Miyeko (Micki) Zafer peacefully passed away on April 28, 2023, at the age of 93 years old, in Toronto, of complications from dementia.
Micki is fondly remembered as a devoted wife of David Zafer, her husband who predeceased her in 2019.
They together, hosted and helped a number of music students from around the world, influencing their lives with her generosity and commitment of time.
Micki was born on May 13, 1929, of Japanese descent, in British Columbia, and moved to Toronto, Ontario, where she enjoyed a full life. She is survived by her loving sons, Michael (Shauna) and Paul (Betty); grandchildren, Lauren (Jacob), Erin and Matt; and great-grandchildren, Cooper and Sienna.
Also survived by her loving sister, Kay Nasu, and her children, Patty (Steve), Alison and Leslie, grandchildren, Jessica, Christoper and Tory - all an intregal part of her life. Per Micki's wishes, a cremation has taken place.
A memorial gathering will take place at a later dat.
