PORTER, Florence Margaret (nee McMARTIN) -
July 8, 1929 - December 6, 2023
Peacefully, at home after a five and a half year battle with lymphoma Florence passed away with her loving daughter, Joan Ouellette at her side.
A wonderful mother who gave her unconditional love to her children, Joan, her beloved son, Ross, who passed away in 2014; and dear son-in-law, Terry Ouellette (deceased 2013).
Florence was predeceased by her husband, Alan Ross Porter (1978), the love and light of her life.
The last member of her generation she leaves behind many loving and loved nieces and nephews; her cherished friend and sister-in-law, Marge McMartin; dear friends Mike Bennett and Bob Spellane.
Young at heart with a zest for life Florence will be remembered as a kind and gracious lady with a radiant smile.
A gathering will be held for family and friends at Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home (375 Mt. Pleasant Ave.), on Monday, December 18, 2023 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. All welcome.
A few flowers would be lovely or in memoriam donations may be made to the Odette Cancer Centre at Sunnybrook Hospital or Mt. Sinai's Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care.
Many thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses who cared for Florence.
