Hancher KennethHANCHER, Kenneth Franklin  -  Passed away at the Harold and Grace Baker Centre on December 26, 2023 at the age of 91.

Ken was the beloved husband of Jean Franklin Hancher (nee Wackley) for 43 happy years.

He served with the Ontario Provincial Police for 30 years before retiring in 1993.

During any available time his main project was building his dream retirement home in the midst of his Muskoka forest property.

Clearing many trees, smoothing down bumps and filling in swamps, he built a road 1.6 km to the perfect site.

As Ken constructed the solar powered home, the deer, moose and bear neighbours quietly observed. Ken's constant companions included golden retrievers Joey, Harry, and finally Rogue.

Friends may join us to celebrate Ken's life at the Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., on Saturday, December 30th from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. visitation followed by a service at 3:30 p.m. in the chapel.

For those who wish, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or the charity of your choice.
