DesROCHES, Gertrude May (nee BUTLER (GARGARO)) - Gertie passed peacefully Friday, January 12, 2024, surrounded by family.
She was the cherished wife and beautiful dance partner of Reg DesRoches, loving mother to Anthony Gargaro (Cathy McKeon), stepmother to Reggie DesRoches, Nicole (Aaron) Court.
She was special Grandma/Meme to Michael, Jenna and Sara Gargaro, and Emma and Tessa Court.
She was aunt, but more of a sister to Linda Deslauriers (Albert) and their son, Jason.
Gertie was born December 11, 1941 and lived her life in Toronto.
She had a career as a loving care giver to many families and maintained special relationships even as they grew out of her care.
Gertie was predeceased by her 13 siblings and will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and extended families of Butlers, Gargaros and DesRoches, as well as many dear friends made through her passion for music, dancing and bingo.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring with details to follow on the Facebook Page of Reg DesRoches.
