CROIL, Nancy Gordon - With great sadness, the family of Nancy Gordon Croil announces her sudden passing at Sunnybrook Hospital on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
Nancy was born on November 5, 1948, in Toronto, Ontario, to Bill Reid and Marg Reid (née Polley).
Nancy's childhood was deeply impacted when she was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 10.
Nonetheless, she did well academically, graduating from York University with an MBA in her early 20s and working for many years at the Ontario Ministry of Health. Nancy married Tom Croil, a professional engineer, and they settled in North Toronto.
Tom passed away in 2022.
Nancy had a very independent spirit. She was a force to be reckoned with and would not hesitate to set you straight if she felt wronged.
Our family is most grateful to Nancy's neighbour and good friend (since childhood), Kit Parkinson. She was always there for Nancy offering unwavering kindness and support.
She is survived by her brother, Blake Reid, and his five children.
