STRATTON, John Robert Albert  - Retired employee McDonnell Douglas Aircraft, De Havilland and A.V. Roe, President UAW/CAW 673, Professor at Confederation College, Masonic Ibrox Lodge 740, Royal Canadian Legion 609

On November 17, 2017, in his 87th year, John returned to the arms of his beloved wife Marie, waiting with mum is Erin, Terry and great-grandchild Shannon.

Heartbroken at losing dad are Lorraine (Rick) Hill, Sharon (Peter) Knudsen, Shauna and Tara Stratton.

Missing Granda are Kerry (Patrick), Jaime, Alannah, Anina (Steve), Kyle (Michelle), Brandon (Jessica) and Breahannon. 12 great-grandchildren will have to learn Granda's stories from their parents. Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland 1930. Apprenticed at Harland and Wolff shipyard.

Immigrated to Canada 1954. Served as President of UAC/CAW local 673 with McDonnell Douglas Aircraft. Upon retirement, John went on to share his knowledge becoming a Professor of Aviation Mechanical Engineering Technology at Confederation College, Thunder Bay. Always active in the community.

Founding member of St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church, Weston. Drum major with Shriners Band. If the trick to life is living with honesty, curiosity, integrity and joy; Dad, you did it with music and a great sense of humour. We love you.

We're sure mum just went ahead to have the kettle waiting for you.

A Memorial Vistation will take place Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 11 a.m., with service to follow at 12 p.m. at Scott Funeral Home - Brampton Chapel (289 Main St. North).

The Stratton Family would like to invite everyone to share memories of John at Glasgow Rangers Club, Brampton.
