Lodenquai MarianLODENQUAI, Marian Elizabeth (nee LOOK HONG)  - Died peacefully at home in Markham on January 7, 2018, at the age of 77 after a lengthy illness with Parkinson's Disease.

Beloved wife of Jeffrey, loving mother of Dr. Christopher and wife Kari, Dr. Gregory and partner Rajeshta.

 

She adored her one and only granddaughter, Kristina.

She is loved and will be greatly missed by her siblings Lillian (Patrick deceased), Cecilia, Pauline (Man Kin), William (Jeanne), Robert (Cecile), many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Born on December 22, 1940 in Kingston, Jamaica to James and Suevon Look Hong, she attended St. Hugh's High School and the University of the West Indies where she completed a BA in History.

After teaching at St. Hugh's for a few years, she married Dr. Jeffrey Lodenquai, had two sons then devoted the rest of her life to child-rearing and running a medical office.

She enjoyed volunteering and community work with the Caribbean Chinese Association and the Tsung Tsin Association. She also had a passion for karaoke and provided endless numbers of kitchen towels for friends, family, neighbours and acquaintances.

Her funeral is scheduled for Saturday, January 13, 2018, at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Highway 7, Markham at 10 a.m. Father Dominique will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend the service. A private interment will follow with immediate family only.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Missionaries of the Poor or to the Markham Stouffville Hospital
