HUGHES, Mary Angeline "Angie"   - In her 80th year, died peacefully surrounded by her family on January 25, 2018, after a very brief illness.

Angie was born September 30, 1937 and was the daughter of Anthony, of the County of Westmeath, Ireland and Florence Riggs of Dublin, Ireland.

Angie is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Michael Hughes.

Much loved Mom to her five children, Anthony, Sheila, Linda (John), Nancy (Daryl) and Michael (John) and cherished grandmother to her eight beautiful and strong grandchildren. Dear sister of Brendan and the late Desmond, Olga, Veronica Deirdre and precious and dearly loved friend of Norm Kerr (Teresa).

Auntie Angie will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews in Canada, England, Ireland, Illinois, California and New Zealand. The family would like to acknowledge and thank all of Mom's dear friends and the members of the Emerald Isle Senior Centre for all their love and support. To recognize mom's love of her Irish heritage, the family would encourage wearing the colour green to the visitation and mass.

Visitation will be held at the Pine Hills Cmetery & Funeral Centre, 625 Birchmount Rd., Scarborough, on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior.

The family would like to extend the warmest and kindest thank you to all the compassionate nurses and doctors at the Michael Garron Hospital who cared and kept our beloved mom comfortable and kept the family strong.

The family would also like to thank the kindness of their employers who graciously granted family members the time off to be with our Mom.
