PEARS, Iris (nee BULL) - Went to meet her Lord on Thursday, January 25, 2018, aged 82, at North York General Hospital, Toronto, from an aggressive, rapidly-progressing cancer.
She is survived by Bernard, her husband of 61 years, her sons Stefan (Edwina), Greg (Catherine), Freeman (Danielle) and grandchildren Gunnar, Odin, Brittany and Kaila, Joshua and Caleb.
Born in London, England, Iris is remembered for her "Exercise with Iris" classes and wonderful ladies' events.
She was such a vital person, always active, always seeking to bring joy, always with her lovely smile and trusting God day by day.
She loved the outdoors – walking, swimming, lakes, sunsets, the sea -- and she loved people! It's been a wonderful life.
She will be sorely missed.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 9th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, 8911 Woodbine Avenue. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, February 10th at 11 a.m. at Bayview Glen Church, 300 Steeles Avenue East, just east of Bayview Avenue, followed by a reception.
Donations in her honour may be made to the Yonge Street Mission, the Salvation Army or the Toronto Children's Aid Society.
