NOBUOKA, Yasushi (Yasu) - Peacefully at Scarborough Grace Hospital on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the age of 91, with his family by his side.
Beloved husband for 61 years of Alice (nee Sugamori), loving father of Debra (darrell williams) and Diane, and proud and much loved grandfather of Brandon, Stuart, Greg and Cameron.
Dear brother of Sumiye Utsunomiya and predeceased by sisters Eiko Kobayashi (George), Chiyeko (June) Nobuoka and brother Tom (Mary). He will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews.
Yasu was born in Vancouver, BC and was moved to Kaslo, BC during WWII before relocating to Toronto. He enjoyed playing tennis in his younger years and watching tennis in his later years.
The Nobuoka family would like to thank all extended family and friends for their loving support as well as Yasu's wonderful caregivers, Kumar, Charlane and Roxanne, CCAC and Dr. Lukowski, Dr. Yam, Dr. Thien and the nurses at SGH for their kind and compassionate care.
Yasu requested no service and in keeping with his wishes, a private celebration of his life will be held. Interment will follow at a later date.
