Meyer RonaldMEYER, Ronald Herbert   - May 8, 1931 - May 27, 2018

Unexpectedly on Sunday, May 27, 2018, at his home of 53 years, Ron passed away just as he was embarking on his 88th year, looking forward to a trip to his Swiss roots this fall.

Ron had only just lost his wife of 54 years, Marylou, on November 30, 2017 and was navigating his new world very well.

He leaves his three sons: Gord (Deborah), Don (Julie Eaton) and John. Grandchildren: Robert (Ashley Baker), Annie (Colin Frotten), Tabitha (Peter Diefenbach); and Great-Grandchildren: Charlie, Andrew, Emily, Abbie, Ava and Madelyn will all miss Grandpa's patience and sense of humour.

Ron was predeceased by his father (Karl Earl - 1960), mother (Inez - 1989) and brothers Duncan (2010), Jackie (1924) and Robert (1968). Ron was extremely proud of his East York roots, the lifelong friends from his "OWEGO" group and, if you met him, he could always discover a community connection that you two shared.

He was a stalwart of Acacia Lodge No. 430 GRC, meticulous and wise, having been a Master twice and Treasurer over his 50+ years of service.

Ron delighted in describing himself as an "elevator doctor" in "vertical transportation", but kept busy in his 20+ years of retirement with all manner of pursuits that he and Marylou enjoyed together.

He will be missed by all who knew him.

Friends are welcome to gather with the family on Monday, June 4, 2018 from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. at McDougall & Brown Funeral Home Scarborough Chapel, 2900 Kingston Road. Reception to follow service.

In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice, would be appreciated.
