SHEFFIELD, John Victor 'Vic'  - April 7, 1932 - May 30, 201

8 Proud to the very end, Vic Sheffield passed away peacefully on May 30, 2018 at the age of 86, surrounded by a family who loved him dearly.

Vic was predeceased by the love of his life and his adored wife of 50 years, Evelyn Sheffield (deceased 2008).

Vic lived a rich, active life and was always keen to remind us that he started working at 14 and so when he retired at 57 he had already accomplished a lifetime of work.

From delivering food parcels for his parents' restaurant in Leaside, to the Discount House in Whitby to senior management at Tupperware and Moulinex Canada, Vic worked hard and accumulated lifelong friendships through his easy banter and genuine interest in others.

Against a whisper of 'how did he do that?' Vic savoured his extended retirement years RV'ing with his beloved Evelyn, sightseeing, socializing, golfing and likely enjoying extended happy hours. Throughout his adult life, Vic gave back to those around him.

As an active volunteer he worked with the Ontario Lacrosse Association, built homes for Habitat for Humanity (did he tell you about the time he had coffee with President Carter), and until very recently, spent Sunday's with Richview Baptist Church Food Bank.

Vic was incredibly proud of his children and is remembered by daughters Donna, Jo-Anne (Jon) and Karen (Brad), as our thoughts are also with his late son Glen (deceased 1979). He will be lovingly remembered by his brother Fred (Noreen) and their weekly coffee chats. He so cherished spending time with grandchildren Amanda, Sean and Laura, great grandchildren Trent, Henry and Gillian, friends and extended family.

A celebration of Vic's life will be announced at a later date.

For those who wish, donations can be made in Vic's name to Habitat for Humanity or your local Food Bank.
